A needlepoint kit — also called a tapestry kit — is everything you need to stitch a finished picture: a canvas with the design already printed in full colour, all the threads pre-sorted, a tapestry needle and instructions. You stitch over the printed design in half cross stitch. Nothing to count, nothing to chart.

It is not the same craft as counted cross stitch. There you work from a chart onto blank Aida fabric; here the picture is printed on the canvas and you cover it. That is why needlepoint suits people who want to stitch rather than count — and why a large piece stays enjoyable instead of turning into arithmetic.

Margot de Paris brings the impressionist and cottage-garden designs. Royal Paris and Grafitec complete the range with florals and landscapes.

Many of these are genuine vintage kits, kept in perfect condition in our stockroom in Valencia since the day they arrived. When a discontinued design sells, it is gone for good — most of them are single units.
